Restorative dental care is an area of dentistry focused on restoring normal function to teeth that have been severely damaged as a result of decay or disease. Repair can be accomplished using a variety of treatments such as dental implants or dental bridges. Located in Darien, Connecticut, our facility is comfortable and our staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Diette cares for all of his patients as he would if they were members of his own family. A truly dedicated dental professional, Dr. Diette’s patients know him as a warm, thoughtful dentist who goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure his patients receive top-notch care.
People who have lost several or all of their teeth have many more restorative options available to them now than in the past. For instance, in the past, dentures were the only option for a person who had lost all of their teeth. Now, dental implants are available as an alternative to traditional dentures. The dental implants offered at our Connecticut facility are made of the highest-quality materials to ensure durability and superior results.
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically placed in the mouth to provide an anchor for artificial teeth. Dental implants are also used at our Connecticut facility to secure dentures into place. Because the root is surgically implanted into the gums, dental implants are a much more secure restoration than traditional dentures.
Durable and long lasting, dental implants can give you a sense of reassurance in knowing that you can chew, speak, and eat with confidence. Dental implants require surgery, so the best candidates for the procedure are individuals with bone and gums that are healthy enough to provide adequate support for the new implants.

If you are missing a tooth or several teeth, dental bridges at our Darien, Connecticut facility may be the answer.
The most common type of bridge is known as a traditional, or fixed, bridge that consists of an artificial tooth with dental crowns fused to either side. The artificial tooth fits into the gap left by the missing tooth and the crowns are attached over adjacent teeth to hold the artificial tooth in place.
Many people request dental bridges at our Connecticut facility because Dr. Diette is known for doing exceptional bridge work.
Bridges are semi-permanent restorations and can only be removed by a dentist.
The best candidates for dental bridges at our Connecticut practice are people in good health who are missing one or two teeth.
To maintain your new dental bridges, it is necessary to practice a regular regimen of good oral hygiene. After receiving your new dental bridges, our Connecticut staff will give you information on how to best care for your new restoration.

Invisalign® is an innovative system of clear aligners that straightens teeth in much the same way as braces. The custom-made aligners are adjusted and changed over a period of time to create even, straight teeth. The Invisalign® system eliminates the need to endure years of painful braces. Patients find the aligners comfortable and easier to care for.
After your initial consultation with Dr. Diette, an impression will be taken of your teeth and sent to Invisalign® specialists who will create your custom aligners.
At your next visit, you will receive your custom set of tooth-straightening aligners, which are designed to fit over your teeth. The duration of time needed to complete the straightening process varies with each individual; however, the aligners are usually worn for six to 24 months. During this time you may wear 18 to 24 different aligners as you move toward your goal of straighter teeth.
Unlike traditional braces, aligners can be removed while you eat; however, they should be worn most of the time or as instructed by your dentist.
Periodontal disease, or gum disease, affects millions of Americans each year and, if left untreated, can result in tooth loss. In fact, gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in adults.
Most gum disease begins with gingivitis. Since gingivitis is not normally associated with major physical discomfort, the signs are often ignored. If left untreated, gingivitis can develop into periodontal disease, an advanced form of gum disease that affects the gums and bone. During this stage of the disease the bone may begin to deteriorate and pull away from the teeth.
Treatments used for gum disease vary, depending on the progression of the disease. Therapy may include nonsurgical techniques such as scaling and root planing to remove plaque and tartar, or surgical procedures such as bone and soft tissue grafts.
Contact cosmetic dentist Dr. Diette at our Norwalk and Stamford area facility if you think you may have gum disease. We provide comprehensive treatments that can save your teeth.
When decay has progressed into the root of the tooth, root canal treatment (also known as endodontic therapy) is the last measure taken to save the tooth from extraction.
During the treatment, the doctor will first remove the diseased pulp from the root of the tooth. The area will be thoroughly cleaned and filled with a special resin called gutta percha. The tooth will then be sealed off to prevent bacteria from entering and, if necessary, a crown will be attached over the visible portion of the tooth to provide added strength and protection.
Contrary to popular opinion, root canal treatment can be a relatively pain-free procedure. Most patients at our practice are delighted to discover that, in the hands of a skilled dentist such as Dr. Diette, root canal treatment is simple and easy.
If you think you may be in need of root canal treatment, contact cosmetic dentist Dr. Diette at his facility near Norwalk and Stamford today.
Did you know that the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends flossing daily and brushing twice each day? Many restorative dental procedures can easily be prevented through better oral hygiene practices, yet most Americans do not properly brush or floss their teeth. Don’t take your oral health for granted. Include an appointment with cosmetic dentist Dr. Diette as part of your regimen for maintaining a beautiful, healthy smile.
While we do offer quality dental implants and bridges at our Connecticut practice, we prefer to see our patients preserve their natural teeth as long as possible by incorporating a regular regimen that involves daily brushing and flossing, and regular dental checkups.
